Inauguration of the Members of the Intersectoral Energy Management Committee (CIME)
The Intersectoral Energy Management Committee (CIME) was established as a national advisory body to the Minister of Energy pursuant to Executive Decree No. 04-149 of 29 Rabi’ al-Awwal 1425 AH (May 19, 2004), which outlines the procedures for the formulation of the National Energy Management Program.
The Committee is composed of representatives from the majority of government ministries, Sonatrach and Sonelgaz groups, public and private enterprises, public institutions across multiple sectors, universities, higher education institutions, research centers, professional associations active in the fields of energy, environmental protection, and consumer advocacy, financial institutions, the National Agency for the Development and Rational Use of Energy, and other entities capable of contributing to effective energy management.
The Intersectoral Energy Management Committee (CIME) fulfills an advisory and coordinating role across sectors, with a mandate to promote and oversee the implementation of energy management policies. Its priorities include optimizing energy consumption, enhancing energy efficiency, and fostering the integration of renewable energy sources. Through these initiatives, the Committee significantly supports the achievement of sustainable development objectives and the safeguarding of national resources.
In accordance with the decision of 26 March 2026 appointing the members of the Intersectoral Energy Management Committee, Dr. Djilali Tassilit, Director of the Renewable Energy Development Center, has been appointed as a member of the Committee, representative of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Dr. Ahmed HADJADJ, Director of the Renewable Energy Research Unit in Saharan Environments - URER MS as representative of the EPST CDER.
