1. Administrative section:
Several points were addressed in this section, and notably:
Recruitment
Call for application for recruitment of researchers and support staff will be launched by the end of the month of September.
Management procedures
With the objective to standardize the managerial procedures, it was decided to elaborate a common manual of internal management procedures for the center and its three units, which will compile the existing administrative, financial and purchasing procedures…etc.
Training
The CDER and its three units ensure the continuous training of its employees, in this context, ongoing contacts are being held with the University of Continuous Training to benefit support staff in research in recycling, improvement and upgrading programs.
Digitalisation
Digitalisation commissions are already established at the center and in each unit. A first report is elaborated emphasizing the realized actions and the action plan. The CDER director asked the unit’s directors to accelerate the digitalisation process, which has become essential today, this process concerns the digitalisation of different administrative services and their management (Administrative, human resources, archiving of documents, scientific documents …etc.)
Coordination between the different CDER commissions of digitalisation is more than essential to move forward with the process. Coordination meetings will be scheduled in the future.
2. Scientific research
This section is dedicated to research and technological development, the following points were discussed:
Scientific equipment management platform
For an optimal and rational usage of the scientific equipment, the center disposes of a platform for the management of scientific equipment and laboratory instruments. The creation of this platform is the responsibility of the unit’s directors.
Test bench platform
With the aim to display and support the visibility of experimental work at the center and its three units, it was decided to create a platform of test bench compiling all test benches and functional installations at the level of the center and its three units.
Project management platform
The implementation of the research project management platform of socio-economic relevance, using the DotProject tool is being carried out at the center and will be extended to its three units. In this prospection, a person is designed to accompany the units’ project heads to be more familiar with the DotProject tool functions and proceed with the insertion and R&D projects.
Scientific outreach
The CDER director has asked the implementation of a scientific approach that will enable research teams to meet more often in the purpose of discussing the team’s research activities. He also insisted on the scientific communication, on the level of the different structures of the EPST in the form of internal or external seminars. EPST researchers, which will facilitate exchange on the research themes of the team/division in a more profound manner, will animate internal seminars; it will also help reinforce knowledge on the research fields and move forward on work valorisation.
On the other hand, external experts, whom will be invited to conduct conferences in several precise fields, will animate external seminars.
Territorial Outreach
The CDER director demanded significant engagement of researchers in the development of renewable energy on the local level through the participation in the launched programs to solarize schools and public buildings.
International cooperation
The CDER Director calls on researchers to mobilize further their efforts to participate, actively in the different programs for international cooperation in the field of renewable energy.
In addition, coordination meetings with the directors of research divisions and team heads for all EPST CDER structures are scheduled to give strong momentum to research activities at the start of the 2018/2019 academic and social year.
