As is customary in every two years, the Applied Research Unit in Renewable Energies URAER of Ghardaïa affiliated to the Renewable Energies Development Center CDER of Algiers, organized the fifth edition of the International Seminar on New and Renewable Energies SIENR 2018.

After a welcoming speech by the Director of the unit, Mr. Djafer Djelloul and the Deputy Director of the EPST CDER, Mr. Diaf Said, Mr. Wali of Ghardaïa Azzedine MECHERI launched the opening of this event, emphasizing certain economic and societal challenges which must be met with the contribution of all stakeholders. He thus took the opportunity to pay a visit to the experimental facilities set up. Mr. Wali then underlined the importance of these research projects, and congratulated the researchers for the research work carried out while encouraging them to move forward.

At the end of the two days of conference work, the participants recommended, among other things, the creation of a network of experts in the theme of Renewable Energies.
