ER2 / CDER: Electrification of a school in Annaba by solar energy
The ER2 Subsidiary of CDER proceeded during the second half of August 2018 to electrification by solar photovoltaic (PV) of the school establishment called Chahid Gourri located in the new city of Annaba in this case DRAA ERRICH .
This pilot installation required a sizing study to determine the adequate configuration allowing the lighting of the exterior courtyard as well as the 12 classes and corridors composing this school.
After this study, ER2 recommended the installation of two systems:
The first system, composed of a PV field of 03 kilo watts peak (KWp) connected to the network thanks to a PV Grid inverter by favoring in the first place the use of solar electricity to power the 137 light points (the lamps Low consumption LEDs being supplied and installed by the ER2) allowing the lighting of the 12 classes, the courtyard and the corridors.
The second system is made up of a 1.2 KWp photovoltaic field with accessories and a 450AH storage battery is completely autonomous over 03 days.
This installation allows the power supply of 04 50 W LED floodlights supplied by the branch and fixed laterally on the walls surrounding the outdoor courtyard.
The operation of these projectors lasts all night with a fully automatic on / off switching by photoelectric cell.
Based on the two produced photovoltaic systems, a simulation of the operation of this PV installation is carried out over a period of one year.
The results of the simulation are shown in the following table:
Designations | Values |
Old annual consumption using 36W neon bulbs and 150W projectors
• Daytime period • Night period • Total |
7600 kWh / year
2190 kWh / year 9790 kWh / year |
New annual consumption using 09W LED bulbs and 50W projectors
• Daytime period • Night period • Total |
1900 kWh / year
730 kWh / year 2630 kWh / year |
Electrical energy consumption reduction report (Gain factor) | 3.72 |
Rate of reduction in electrical energy consumption | 73.14% |
Annual photovoltaic production | 8,090 kWh / year |
Electric energy drawn from the network and which is billed by Sonelgaz | 821 kWh / year |
PV system self-sufficiency rate | 68.8% |
