EPST CDER team pays a visit to the American NREL laboratory
As part of the project "Creation of an accredited laboratory for the control of photovoltaic modules", a team of researchers from CDER carried out a visit to the NREL "National Renewable Energy Laboratory" laboratory in Colorado from 07 to 14 July 2018.
The objective of this visit led by NREL senior researcher Dr. Peter Hacke was to observe the testing process and the equipment used at NREL’s Outdoor Test Facility and Related Facilities OTF.
During this visit, EPST CDER researchers could attend certain tests of the photovoltaic modules in accordance with standard IEC 61215 carried out by NREL and observe the control and monitoring of the external test sites of the PV module. Several meetings were organized on the sidelines of this visit with NREL researchers and engineers to exchange best practices in testing photovoltaic modules and the additional tests that CDER can perform to meet Algeria’s climatic specifications.
As a reminder, this project is funded by the CTCN "Climate Technology Center & Network" organization of the United Nations Development Program and aims to support CDER by NREL for the creation of a certification laboratory and a test of the photovoltaic modules.
