EPST CDER celebrates the Summer Solstice, which corresponds to the 30th anniversary, and 30 years at the service of Renewable Energies
The Renewable Energies Development Center organized a ceremony on the occasion of the celebration of the 2018 summer solstice and to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of its creation at the headquarters of its Bou-Ismail Solar Equipment Development Unit, Tipaza.
This usual event is an opportunity for the awarding of prizes to the best scientific productions and technological achievements at national level, and also to encourage associations activating in the field of renewable energies and sustainable development.
Over the years, the CDER continues to maintain a strong presence in the field of renewable energy development thanks to the pursuit of the center’s objectives in order to respond to Algeria’s strategy in the fields of renewable energy and efficiency energy.
The CDER through its dynamic in the scientific research and green energy sector contributes to the promotion of research results, in particular their dissemination, exploitation and use.
On this subject, the event was started by the opening word given by Professor Bouhicha Mohamed representative of the Director General of the DGRSDT Professor Hafid AOURAG, then, the word of Professor Noureddine Yassaa Director of the EPST CDER who gave a brief presentation on the course of the CDER to present the highlights and achievements in the field of renewable energy during thirty years of continuous work and tireless efforts.
For the awards ceremony, the CDER chose 5 prizes for the best technological achievements of the EPST CDER, three for its research units UDES in Tipaza, URAER in Ghardaïa and URER.MS in ADRAR and two prizes for the CDER in Bouzaréah, ALGER as detailed below:
• Prize for the best technological achievement of the EPST CDER given to the solar distillation team of the Research Unit for Renewable Energies in the Saharan Environment (URERMS) for its prototype solar distiller coupled with a self-storing energy collector.
• The mini photovoltaic power plant team from the Applied Renewable Energy Research Unit (URAER) won the prize for the best technological achievement of the EPST CDER for its two-axis solar tracking prototype.
• A team from the Solar Equipment Development Unit (UDES) had the same price for the construction of an energy-efficient house equipped with an intelligent system.
• The CDER hybrid system team received the prize for the best technological achievement from the EPST CDER, they produced an AC DC AC conversion chain.
• The CDER aerodynamic team, which produced a blade in CDER model aerocomposite materials, also has the same prize.
The quality prize for scientific production, it was awarded to doctor Taqiy Eddine Boukelia of the University of Jijel.
The encouragement prize for the promotion of renewable energies was awarded to the SIDRA association for its vitality in raising awareness among citizens in the field of renewable energies and the preservation of the environment.
On this occasion, the CDER honored Professor Hamouda Messaoud, former director of the Research Unit for Renewable Energies in the Saharan Medium (URERMS) for his active work and his dedication to achieving the objectives of the CDER.
After a snack, a round table on the thematic of scientific research and the energy transition in Algeria was chaired by Prof. N.YASSAA, Director of EPST CDER, M. BOUZERIBA, CEO of APRUE, M. BOULEKHRAS, CEO of SKTM, Mrs KHEDACHE, Project Manager at the Ministry of the Interior, Local Collectivities and Territory Planning, Mr. YAICI, former CDER researcher and President of CLUSTER ENERGIE SOLAIRE in Algeria, Mr. CHENAK, former CDER researcher and Director of Renewable Energies at the Ministry of the Environment and Renewable Energies and Mr. AIT CHAFAA, Director of the ER2 / CDER Commercial Subsidiary.
The radio channel 3 was also present at the ceremony by a live radio set powered by renewable energies around the energy-independent solar table.
The participants of the set dealt with the following subjects: the energy transition in Algeria, climate change, the challenges of the energy transition, the Algerian potentials in terms of green energies and the efforts of the Algerian government for the green economy.
The afternoon of this celebration was devoted to visits by the general public through open doors in order to discover the different activities of the EPST CDER and its scientific and technological products which have been developed by its researchers, engineers and technicians.
