Summer Solstice 2018, 30 years at the service of Renewable Energies
On the occasion of the celebration of the summer solstice 2018, the CDER will commemorate its 30 years of scientific research and technological development in the field of renewable energies and energy efficiency.
Indeed, 30 years ago, on March 22, 1988, the Renewable Energy Development Center was created under the supervision of the High Commission for Research and since its creation, the CDER has undergone many changes. First of all, it becomes a Public Scientific and Technological Establishment (EPST) with intersectoral vocation, passes under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and widens its activities on the national territory through its three units located in Adrar in the far south, in Ghardaïa in the northern part of the Sahara and in Bouismail in the wilaya of Tipaza.
Today, as in the past, the CDER has established itself as the first institution working in the field of renewable energy in Algeria. The CDER has always known how to stay the course and respect its commitments. Drawing on years of work and continuous research on renewable energies, today’s CDER, after 30 years of age, is tackling energy and environmental challenges with an integrated approach.
Today we are starting the future with a renewed commitment to advance knowledge through scientific research in the field of renewable energy and to offer scientific solutions to deal with climate change and the depletion of fossil reserves.
On this occasion, the CDER will organize as usual on Thursday June 21 within its Solar Equipment Development Unit in Bouismail, a ceremony to honor the best scientific productions and technological achievements at the national level.
A round table on the theme of scientific research and the energy transition is planned. It will be led by a panel of scientists and managers from different business sectors.
Open houses are also organized in the afternoon to introduce the general public to EPST activities and the products developed.
