The CDER participates in the seminar "Integration of renewable energies in public lighting"

On Thursday, May 10, 2018 at the SONATRACH AVAL conference hall in Oran, the Renewable Energy Development Center participated in the seminar "Integrating Renewable Energies into Public Lighting" as a partner in the event, which was organized by the APW of Oran in partnership with SONATRACH AVAL.

After the official opening of the seminar with the participation of executives, university professors, researchers and various media, Professor Noureddine Yassaa, Director of the CDER gave a presentation entitled "Local Communities: Driving the energy transition ", where he presented the CDER and these research activities, the support of the CDER to the national renewable energy program, the state of play of energy consumption, the different roles of local communities in renewable energies and actions to be undertaken at local level to reduce the rising costs of electricity, at the end of his presentation, Professor Yassaa gave detailed explanations of public lighting, followed by an interactive and fruitful discussion with attendees.

The CDER also presented its scientific and technical activities through an exhibition stand, where were presented the various renewable energy resources that abound in Algeria, in this context, Dr. Said Ould Amrouche exposed his charge controller and battery discharge, this regulator is an electronic device for regulating and controlling electrochemical battery storage systems for standalone PV installations. The device provides protection against overloads and deep discharges and can be used as an application in the solar photovoltaic lighting system.

On the agenda of the day, conferences were presented by national and international experts on Eco Energies, innovation-inspired models and a presentation entitled "The city of Oran towards an energetic and ecological transition".
