On the occasion of the celebration of the Yaoum El-Ilm Day, the Renewable Energy Research Unit in the Saharan Medium (URER / MS) affiliated to the Renewable Energy Development Center (CDER) organized, on April 28, 2018, an awareness day on the use of Renewable Energies in Saharan Medium under the theme: "Renewable Energies: a promising investment".

This event was organized at the Main Library of Adrar Commune. The organizers wanted to make this day an opportunity to educate the strata of society in the city of Adrar (ordinary citizens, farmers, high school students and even schoolchildren) benefits and profits provided by the use of Renewable Energies.

Invitations were sent to local authorities and several directors concerned by this event (university, education, high schools, Sonelgaz, environment, etc.).

Prototypes and research products have been exposed to explain to the interested public the multiple uses of different types of renewable energies. Posters were also posted to inform the public about the different applications of renewable energy.

This day showed a crowd of the public who was very interested and curious to know more about the Renewable Energies. Several of them (citizens, high school students, teachers, farmers ...) expressed a deep satisfaction.

The organizers found that this awareness day was successful. Appointments were made with officials of the local people’s assemblies and farmers to see the opportunity to accompany them with studies or projects in the fields of Renewable Energies.
