Meeting of the Standing Committee of the International Thermal Days
The Renewable Energies Development Center hosted, on April 21, 2018, the meeting of the Standing Committee of the International Thermal Days (JITH). The opening of the meeting was made in the presence of the CDER Director who welcomed the members of the Committee and assured them of the support of the Center in any action that promotes the development of scientific cooperation between between the different partners of the Mediterranean for the mutual interest of our societies, especially in the themes developed by this conference namely energy and the environment. The Standing Committee is made up of researchers and university lecturers from different Mediterranean universities.
It should be recalled that the JITHs are intended to meet societal needs in the field of energy and the environment. They also make it possible to encourage cooperation between scientific teams from both sides of the Mediterranean, to give young researchers the opportunity to present their research work.
The JITH will be held for the 19th time, since their creation in Monastir-Tunisia in 1983. They are organized every two years alternately in Algeria, Morocco, France, Belgium, Egypt and Tunisia.
The JITHs propose, in the field of energy and environment, to:
* Update on the state of progress of research in the areas of heat transfer, energy efficiency, new and renewable energies and the environment.
* Contribute to the dissemination and enhancement of research for applications in various sectors of the economy (industry, agriculture, transport and habitat ..).
* Develop relations between researchers and decision-makers working in these fields.
The purpose of this meeting was to discuss different organizational arrangements and to confirm the venue and dates of the next conference to be held in Oran, the local partner of which will be the USTO, towards the end of the month of October 2019. Traditionally, the host country chooses a special theme. For the 2019 edition, the theme chosen is wind energy and hybrid systems. At the end of the meeting, the members of the committee made a brief visit to the center.
