Participation of the CDER at the Day of the energy on the occasion of "Youm El’Ilm"

On the occasion of the celebration of Youm El Ilm, the Ecole Nationale Polytechnique ENP organized the 22nd Energy Day under the theme "Energy Transition for a 50% Sustainable Model" on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the training center of Sonelgaz in Ben Aknoun.

The main goal of this day is to open a meeting platform between academic specialists, experts activating in the field of energy, energy transition and renewable energies.

The official opening speech was given by Mr. Mustapha Guitouni, Minister of Energy in the presence of Mrs. Fatma Zohra Zerouati, Minister of Environment and Renewable Energies, Mr. Arkab Mohamed, CEO of Sonelgaz, Mr. Noredine Cherouati, former CEO of Sonatrach, Pr Hafid Aourag, General Director of Scientific Research and Technological Development, Pr. Chems Eddine Chitour, Director of the ENP Fossil Energies Laboratory, Pr. Noureddine Yassaa, Director of CDER , representative of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research as well as senior executives, professors, researchers and engineering students of the school.

In his speech, the Minister of Energy, Mr Guitouni precised that the two national programs of renewable energy and energy efficiency integrate centrally the preservation of the environment, for this, it is expected a series measures and actions to reduce local pollution, including the eventual elimination of leaded petrol, the promotion of "clean" fuels such as LPG / C and the reduction of pollutant emissions by combustible fuels that affect the environment.

The coverage of the long-term energy needs of our country and the promotion of the national industry are major objectives, because this perspective is part of a vision of sustainable development, which means the preservation of our environment and also the fight against global warming, he said.

The 22nd Energy Day was held in two sessions, the first dealt with the new energy order and the challenges of the future for Algeria, Algeria’s state of potential and long-term prospects, achievements and prospects in the framework of the national renewable energy program, contributions to energy savings. As for the second session, it affected Algeria’s food security, climate change "findings and solutions", the global energy balance and outlook for 2030, and energy storage methods.

The CDER participated in this day through an exhibition stand presenting the different activities of the center in the field of Renewable Energy and sustainable development, namely wind, solar, geothermal and bioenergy field maps.

At the end of this day, a rich debate took place which highlighted the recommendations established by Prof. Chitour, Pr. Yassaa, M Boulakhras DG of SKTM, Mr. Bouzeriba DG of the PRUE and Mr. HASNI ex DG of NEAL .
