General Assembly of the project "Strengthening quality infrastructure for solar thermal energy in the Maghreb" in Algiers from 19 to 21 February 2018

The Renewable Energy Development Center (CDER) participated in the meeting of the General Assembly of the project "Strengthening Quality Infrastructure for Solar Thermal Energy in the Maghreb", organized by the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), held at the Lamaraz Arts Hotel in Algiers from February 19 to 21, 2018.

The objective of this meeting is to present firstly the new structure of coordination and project management, to expose the activities of the year 2017, to decide the members of the steering committee and to plan the activities of the year 2018 to the four components of the project namely: testing laboratories, calibration laboratories, academic institutions and certification.
The official opening of the general assembly was made by Pr. Noureddine YASSAA, Director of the CDER followed by Mr. Djamel HALES, General Director of IANOR, as well as Mrs. Laura BLOMENKEMPER, Project Coordinator of the PTB.
The meeting brought together nearly 30 participants from the three Maghreb countries (Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia) including the institutions of standardization and energy management, Universities as well as solar test and calibration laboratories pyranometers, flow meters and anemometers.

Following the General Assembly, a visit to the laboratories of the Renewable Energy Development Center (CDER) was planned at its headquarters by the coordinators of the German Metrology Institute PTB.
