Participation of the Director of the CDER, Prof. Noureddine Yassaa at Panel 5: Renewable Energies and Climate Change at the conference-exhibition: Making a Successful Energy Transition: The National Renewable Energy Strategy for 2030, Algiers, 17, 18, 19 January 2018.
The Director of the CDER, Prof. Noureddine Yassaa, led a conference on the role of scientific research, innovation and technological development to support the national renewable energy development program. For the Director of the CDER, support for R & D in the field of renewable energy is a national priority and a strategic choice able to remove technological barriers and harmoniously develop new energy solutions that are both reliable and clean and at affordable costs, through technological development, the maturity of technologies, the competitiveness of technologies and the large-scale deployment of renewable energy. He added that this support must come from both public authorities and private companies.

For a new energy solution to be sustainable, it is essential to adapt technologies to local conditions and to develop capabilities to control, install, maintain and use them, says he. For him, setting up an industrial renewable base can help develop the skills needed to first adapt technologies to local conditions and to innovate new solutions to meet local needs. International cooperation should enable local capacity building, technology transfer and the establishment of a strong renewable energy industry with a significant integration rate.
He concluded by pointing out that innovations and technological solutions do exist in all sectors and R & D efforts have already been made for a long time. The challenge remains in accelerating their broadcasts and their large-scale use. Accelerating the diffusion of innovations must be supported by the integration of technological policies, incentives and incentives policies and market measures.
