The CDER organizes the 1st International Conference on Energy Efficiency and Green Building in Algeria at El Aurassi Hotel (Algiers)
Energy efficiency is now at the heart of Algeria’s energy policy. In its energy transition strategy, the Algerian government has chosen to set a national target for reducing internal energy consumption. This strategy, placed by his Excellency the President of the Republic as a national priority, comes through a national program of energy efficiency.
To initiate a discussion around this program in its chapter devoted to the building sector, the CDER intends to organize during January 18, 2018 a first edition of the International Conference on energy efficiency and eco-construction in Algeria to be held at EL Aurassi hotel (Algiers).
This conference will bring together the different actors working in the field of energy efficiency (researchers, academics, policy makers, industrialists ...) will allow to discuss the national strategy put in place to ensure the promotion of energy efficiency in the building sector in Algeria.
This scientific event will also address the subject of the new building thermal regulations published in 2017 and its actual application in the field.
Finally, this conference will give the floor to professionals in the field to share good practices of eco-building based on their experiences and projects in different regions of Algeria and other countries.
This conference will be an excellent opportunity for:
- Provide a space for the exchange of scientific knowledge related to eco-construction and energy efficiency of buildings.
- Create a network of scientists and professionals working in the field of energy efficiency and eco-construction in the country.
- To consult on the methods of application of the Algerian thermal regulation of the building.
The topics covered:
The conference will be an opportunity to discuss the current state of the building sector in Algeria. The topics will focus on:
1. The 2016-2030 National Energy Efficiency Program and the obstacles that could hinder its realization,
2. The national strategy put in place to promote energy efficiency in the building sector,
3. The application of the national regulatory framework for energy efficiency in buildings,
4. State of play of the national industrial activity of energy efficient materials and equipment.
