Seminar on Bilateral Cooperation between Algeria and Korea in the field of Climate Change, Energy and Environment.
The the Renewable Energy Development Center (CDER) participated in the "Seminar on Bilateral Cooperation between Algeria and Korea in the field of Climate Change, Energy and Environment" organized on December 10, 2017 in Algiers in the presence of His Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Algeria, Park Sang-jin, the Director of the CDER, Prof. Noureddine Yassaa, the Director of the Photovoltaic Solar Energy Division, Dr. Amar Hadj Arab, the Head of Electronic Systems and Storage Team, Dr. Said Ould Amrouche, and 16 General Directors of Korean Companies activating in Algeria.
The Director of the CDER gave a conference entitled "Development of Renewable Energy in Algeria: Potentials and Perspectives" where he exposed the opportunities for the development of renewable energies in Algeria. He also presented the project of cooperation between the CDER and the Korean Agency for International Cooperation (KOICA) which resulted in the installation of a 30 KWp mini-solar photovoltaic plant at the Energy Research Unit in the Saharan Medium affiliated to the CDER. Commissioned in September 2016, this mini-power plant has produced, during 4,090 hours of operation, 46.1 MWh of electricity injected into the local electricity grid of the unit, which corresponds to 20% of the total electricity consumption of the unit.
