The ER2 / CDER subsidiary installs solar energy for the electrification of homes and water pumping in the Tassili N’Ajjer and Ahaggar National Parks

The studies and achievements in renewable energies subsidiary (ER2) of the Renewable Energy Development Center (CDER) has recently successfully completed the acquisition, installation and commissioning of solar kits for 56 homes for nomads and solar pumps for 11 wells of drinking water in the Tassili N’Ajjer National Park in the Wilaya of Illizi and the Ahaggr National Park in the Wilaya of Tamanrasset. This project is part of a contract signed between ER2 / CDER and the National Directorate of the Algerian Cultural Parks Project (PPCA) under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture.

This project constitutes a continuity of the program of preservation of the biodiversity and the actions allowing the nomads living in these parks classified as world heritage of the humanity and reserve of the man and the biosphere the access to a clean, sustainable solar energy source and its services so that they themselves participate in the effort to preserve biodiversity.

The solar pumps are equipped with a photovoltaic generator with a power of 320 Wc allowing a daily water flow of 15 m3. For the electrification of the homes, the solar kit consists of photovoltaic solar panels with a power of 120 Wc and storage batteries for an autonomy of 3 days.
