Participation of the CDER at the 1st Seminar on the promotion of innovative green economy projects.
The CDER participated in the first Seminar on the Promotion of Innovative Projects in Green Economy at the Ecole Supérieure Algerienne des Affaires (ESAA) in Algiers, on the 11th and 12th of July 2017. This seminar was organized jointly by R20 MED, the NGO’s office for the Mediterranean region, the Ecole Nationale Polytechnique of Oran Maurice Audin (ENPO-MA) and the Ecole des Mines de Saint-Etienne (EMSE). Sponsored by the Minister of the Environment and Renewable Energies, the seminar was attended by about 200 institutional and economic players involved in the fields of renewable energies, energy efficiency and sustainable waste management. The program of the seminar was divided into three sessions dedicated to each of the three areas, including discussion panels on specific issues related to Public Policy and Actions, Business Projects and feedback.

This program was animated and moderated by a group of experts and executives representing national institutions, public and private economic operators, communities and the academic sector. The researchers of the CDER participated actively in this event, notably Dr KAABECHE Abdelhamid, Research Master at the CDER, who participated in the session "Renewable Energies", particularly the first Panel called "Policies and Public Actions".

This panel focused on the legal framework for the national renewable energy development program adopted by the government in 2011 and updated in 2015, on the mechanisms and tools required for its implementation as well as on its incentives. Regarding the session on the promotion of energy efficiency in Algeria, Dr KHARCHI Razika from the CDER also participated in the panel which focused on the implementation of the energy efficiency program, in particular in its component "Thermal Insulation in the Building Sector". In this area, it was found by all participants that it is more than time to encourage the implementation of innovative practices and technologies around thermal insulation.
