The Solar Equipment Development Unit (UDES) in Bou Ismaïl received a Mauritanian delegation, composed of central directors of the Mauritanian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, accompanied by the Director of the Technology Development and Innovation of the DGRSDT and the Director of the Renewable Energy Development Center (CDER).

After a brief presentation of the EPST CDER by the Director of the CDER, Prof. Noureddine Yassaa, the delegation was given a guided tour by the Director of the UDES, the Dr Bouzidi Belkacem in the laboratories and test benches illustrating the work carried out by the researchers, where detailed explanations were given on various projects for exemple ; Wastewater treatment and valuation, distillation and desalination of brackish and sea water, application of photovoltaic equipment and production of cold by solar thermal energy, the solar dryer, a promising project that allows, among others , Agro-food processing plants to recover wet and perishable waste in the fruit and vegetable processing chain.

Finally, the tour of the Mauritanian delegation ended at the intelligent solar house with low energy consumption, fueled as its name indicates by the solar electricity, allowing the water treatment, the operation of the equipment of cold and Air conditioning, and solar heating.

Discussions have teated ways and means of cooperation between the two countries in research and development in the field of renewable energies.
