The Renewable Energy Development Center took part in the celebration of the International Day of Forests organized on 21 March by the General Direction of National Security in collaboration with the National Agency for the Nature Protection.

Organized at the Sports and Leisure Center in Baïnem under the slogan "Tree is the source of life", the day was crowned by the reforestation of 200 trees and a presentation on the protection of Environment and cultural activities for children.

The opening of the day was attended by the Director of the Renewable Energy Development Center, the Professor Noureddine YASSAA, the First Dean of Police, the Deputy Director of Social Activities of the Directorate of Health and Social and Sport Activities, Mr Mourad MALYANI, the General Director of the National Agency for Nature Conservation, Mr Hanafi AYAD and several representatives of the Algerian research centers and authorities.

March 21 of each year, thanks to the United Nations, it became an international day of forests whose multiple services make it an essential resource for sustainable development. The CDER, as usual, is actively involved in any action to protect the environment and sustainable development in general.

The participation of the Renewable Energy Development Center focused on four prototypes:

• Photovoltaic Solar Pumping System,
• Lighting Solar Photovoltaic,
• Bioreactor for the Energetic Valuation of Biomass,
• The biopile with microbial cell plant.
