Participation of the CDER to the Algeria Renewable Energy & Power Infrastructure Conference
The Renewable Energy Development Center participated to the International Conference « Algeria Renewable Energy & Power Infrastructure », organized with partnership with EUROCONVENTION GLOBAL on March 1st, 2017, at Sofitel, El HAMMA Hotel, Algiers. The event was anopportunity for the meating between national and international experts to discuss issues related to renewable energies and energy infrastructure in Algeria.

The conference was attended by a panel of experts and personalities working in the field of renewable energies: Mr. Adel BABA AISSA, Director of London and Algiers Renewable Energie Partner, Mrs. Ouidad HAMROUR, Director of Electricity and gas Engineering Company, SONELGAZ, Mr. Touffik FREDJ, General Manager of Global Growth and Operations North-West Africa, Mr. Atef MARZOUK, Executive Director of African Energy Commission, African Union ; Mr. Emmanuel PY, Expert à Energy and Extractives Global Practice, Mrs. Elena MERLE BERAL, Expert in Energy Policy at International Finance Corporation France.

The conference was held in two sessions: the first covered the National Renewable Energies Program 2015-2030, and touched on the following points:
- Updates on Sustainable Energy Policies and the Energy Efficiency Program,
- First achievements in energy efficiency and future prospects,
- Photovoltaic solar, CSP, biomass and geothermal energy.

The second session discussed the following issues:
- Role of international financial institutions and development agencies,
- The essential role of the national electricity transmission network,
- Algeria as a potential supplier of renewable energy for Europe.

The CDER was present at the conference cycle with a presentation entitled "Research and Development of Renewable Energies", given by Dr. DIAF Said, Deputy Director of the Center. This presentation toured on research and development in the field of renewable energies, presentation of the CDER (activities, partnership, prototypes ...) and its role in renewable energy in Algeria.

In the esplanade of the hotel, a stand was exhibited by the CDER presenting its various activities in the field of Renewable Energies and sustainable development.

At the end of the event, a debate was created between the participants in order to draw up recommendations to develop the energy sector in Algeria.
