Numerical study of a single effect ejector-absorption cooling system

Abstract

This paper presents a steady-state simulation model of a single-effect ejectorabsorption refrigeration cycle using NH3/LiNO3 and NH3/NaSCN a working fluids. The gas-gas ejector, incorporated between condenser and generator, entrains the gaseous refrigerant from the evaporator. The developed theoretical model is used to investigate the influence of various operating parameters (generator, condenser and evaporator temperatures) of the performances of the refrigeration unit and to compare them to those of cycles without ejector. The results show that the studied combined cycle provides potentially higher COP than the conventional absorption machines.
