The Renewable Energy Development Center (CDER) participated actively in the 6th innovation fair at the SAFEX in Algiers, organized by the Algerian National Institute of Industrial Property (INAPI) under the tutelage of the Ministry of Industry and Mines, on 05, 06 and 07 December 2016. The exhibition was attended by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and more than 45 participants.

The objective of this event is to make known the research potential and that of independent inventors, to promote innovation through the valorization of knowledge and know-how.

The official inauguration of the fair was launched by the Director General of INAPI, Mr. Abdelhafid BELMEHDI, who visited the stands and received explanations about the activities and prototypes exhibited by the Engineers and Researchers of the CDER.

The Renewable Energy Development Center and its units participated in this fair for the best innovation award through two patents, a biodiesel production system (URERMS-ADRAR) and a refrigerator powered by a solar panel (UDES).

The CDER also participated with a stand for its development and research activities. Various prototypes were presented, namely:

• A renewable hydrogen welding torch (CDER-Bouzarea).
• A 1m2 heliostat with 2 tracking axes (CDER-Bouzarea).
• Another prototype tracking heliostat (URAER-GHARDAIA).
• A bioreactor for waste energy valorization (CDER-Bouzaréah).
• The biopile with microbial cell plant (CDER-Bouzaréah).
