CDER - Applied Research Days "Renewable Energies at the very heart of the energy transition" the 1st and 2nd June
Within the Scientific Applied Research Days settled by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Renewable Energy Development Center organized the 1st and 2nd June 2016 these open days entitled : « Renewable energies at the evry heart of the energy transition », at its Solar Equipment Development Unit – UDES Bou Smail.
This two days event was the appropriate occasion to bring the research and business worlds together in order to foster and promote innovative collaborative projects in a booming market, present the latest innovations as well as prototypes achieved by the CDER’s researchers.
These open days saw an important involvement of professionals from various sectors, socio-economic and cultural, researchers and students and companies representatives concerned with renewable energies and who can contribute to the national efforts for their development.
Official opening
The opening word was given by the Secretary General of the Ministery of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Mohamed Salah Seddiki, in presence of the General Director of Scientific Research and Technological Development, Mr. Hafid Aourag, the Director of the Renewable Energy Development Center, Mr. Noureddine Yassaa, the Ambassador of Finland in Algeria, Mrs. Tuula Svinhufvud, representatives of the Embassy of Spain in Algeria, and many Directors of local and foreighn companies and bodies.
In his speech, Mr. Seddiki Mohamed Salah called back on the fact that Algeria holds a huge potential in terms of renewable energies which must be exploited as soon as possible and integrate it in different sectors so that the energy security would be guarateed and to diversify our energy resources in an unsteady global market.
IN his plenary meeting, Pr. Noureddine Yassaa noted that the last minister council classified renewable energies as « a national priority » ich will inevitably assure the energy independence to our country and will generate a dynamic for an economic-industrial development.
Signing of Conventions
During this event, 07 framework conventions have been signed between CDER and 07 companies working in the energy, environment and industry fields.
The conventions with the environment sector were concluded with the National Agency for Waste (AND)
Tonic Emballage Group
and the non governmental organization R20 MED.
While, the convetions with the energy sector were signed with General Electric (GE)
and APRUE
Finally, in the industry sector, CDER signed conventions with ENIE
and the Algerian Chamber for Commerce and Industry (CACI).
Exhibitions
Many projects representing innovations of Algerian researchers, in hydraulic, agricultural, building, environment and transportation were exhibited during these open days held at the Solar Equipment Development Unit (UDES).
For instance, a solar electric vehicle, a charging stand, a cabin solar dryer, a cold accumulation refrigirator, a tubular photo-bioreactor for wasted water purification.
Solar energy
Besides, CDER suplied a radio broadcasting of « service public » show at Chaîne 03 using the solar energy, and in which our researchers were invited to participate to.
Conferences
On the schedule of the event, conferences given by researchers of CDER and its units on two sessions. The first session concerned the study of a 1.1 MW PV power plant performances at Ghardaïa and the 10 MW wind power plant at kabertene- Adrar, the software the application of the Algerian thermal regulation, conservation of food products with soalr drying. Concerning the second session, it was about the possible integration of geathermal energy in agriculture in Algeria, solar cooking : an alternative to contribute in sustainable development in remoted areas, integration of renewable energies in the water resources sustainable management , solar pumping in Adrar : use and perspectives.
During these two days, the five winner pupils of the Solar Cooker Festival in Adrar stand the 16th April 2016, exposed their prototypes.
In the second day, the Director Yassaa Noureddine received a delegation of Afghanistan. In his speech, Mr. Yassaa presented the center and its activities in renewable energies and sustainable development.
The members of the Afghan delegation have then made a visit to the stands where prototypes developped by CDER’s researchers were exposed.
