Wind energy in Algeria: a brief overview

In Algeria, the first attempt to connect wind turbines to electric grid was in 1957, with the installation of a wind generator of 100 kW in the site of Grand Vent (Algiers). Conceived by the French ingeneer Andreau, the prototype was initially set in St-Alban in England.
