CDER at the national grouping of scientific clubs for environment and renewable energy
The national grouping of scientific clubs for environment and renewable energy which occured at the university frères Mentouri of Constantine is an event aiming to gather students in strategic areas which are renewable energy and environment, and that, in the focus of establishing common projects and also encourage universities scientific clubs in their activities.
The opening was an opportunity for all attending clubs from different universities of the country, to show themselves, in which field they act, and present their previous achievements. During the second day, clubs exhibited their works on posters, maquettes and prototypes. There was some distiguishing works that caught our eyes : the hydraulic ram of the students from the university of Biskra which can be used for vertical water pumping using the energy of lower water flow, the maquettes of the students from the university of Constantine which propose the integration of renewable energy in universities, and the works for indentifying vegetal species in the region of Souk Ahras.
However, Purely scientific clubs were not the only participants to this events. Indeed, a club from the university of Setif, composed of economists, exposed its projects that bring out the fact that environmental care and economic profitabilty could be perfectly matched.
During that event, professors from the university frères Mentouri of Constantine gave conferences and different workshops on divers themes such as biomass and the benefit to use it for alternative fuel production, the different PV applications, the direct absorbtion of solar energy based on the nano fluids, and then a questionning on the fututre of earth and the impact of human activities on climate and environment. These conferences and workshops created dynamic discussions between students and speakers what prouved the great interest held for renewable energy amoung the academic university and the growing awareness concerning its importance.
The Renewable Energy Development Center, for its part, exposed a model explaining how to use wind energy and photovoltaic energy in the production of hydrogen through electrolysis, as well as the conversion of that hydrogen onto electricity usinf fuel cells. The stress was put on the use of hydrogen as a mean to store electrical energy produced with renewable energy systems in the form of a chemical energy.
Another device showing clearly the applications of photovoltaic energy to achieve autonomous systems dedicated for public lighting and pumping was also exposed. Named « 3-in-1 », the device combines 3 actions simultaneously and providing an energy autonomy, water access and last but not least environment protection by the use of renewable energy which is the solar energy. The device comes to meet major issues directed by all entakes of a sustainable development knowing energy, water and environment.
