Project: Optimization of two solar installations for drying

Abstract:
Given the price of energy, the drying is also very expensive. Reduce those costs necessary to consider more energy-efficient solutions and developing efficient solar drying systems by implementing simple techniques. The use of absorbent surfaces (selective or anti-radiating) protected by a sealed glass slide lets the solar radiation and provides law temperatures of 150-200°C by the simple effect of greenhouse, without concentration.

Objectives:
The main objectives of this project are presented as follows:

  • contribution to the development of a procedure for preprocessing the products studied for optimal drying and good quality
  • Development of techniques for reliable measurement of physical parameters
  • Proposal of a prototype (solar dryer) to the semi-pilot scale.
