Project: Study and experimentation of PV systems connected to the network.

Abstract:
The project targets to strengthen the rôle of our research centre in the national policy for promoting and intergrating renewable energy, more particularly PV systems connected to the network. The project undestands many parts mainly on the study of :

  • Solar potential: An analysis of the national territory will be made by taking into account various climatic zones. Empirical correlations taking into account data measured through several sites will be used. We specify that the prediction of the energy PV depends on the reliability of the data of weather forecasts.
  • Data base: Constitution of a bank of meteorological, electric and energy data of the CPVCR of the CDER over several years to evaluate its performances and to validate mathematical models of the PV generator, the inverter and the network.
  • PV Equipments : Use of laboratory equipments for the monitoring and the evaluation of PV equipments ( PV module, inverter) during their running.
  • Injection to the network: Study of the PCC point (Point of Common Coupling) of the CPVCR of the CDER, to study the quality of power injected into the network and to predict scenarios of development importing PV systems linked with the distribution networks.
  • Impact and capacity of the national integration: Study of the behavior of the electricity network further to the photovoltaic solar insertion of power plants, and consequences of the injection of this energy on the network as well as the constraints engendered on the distribution network.
    The PV plant connected to the network of the CDER is a demonstrating project and study of reliability and efficiency of the behavior across time of equipment of this system. The evaluation of performance is going to allow to estimate all the parameters characterizing energy efficiency of the power plant that is the energy produced by the PV generator, the energy consumed by loads, the output energy of inverters and energy injected in the network.

  • Study of the inverter connected to the network
  • Development of models of estimation of PV production based on moderate and estimated meteorological data.
  • Value national resource: the highest of the MENA region and one of the most important in the World.
