Training : Toward the accreditation of tests and calibration (pyranometers) laboratories of the CDER

Aiming for the accreditation of laboratories for solar water-heaters test and metrology for the calibration of pyranometers, the CDER has committed itself to prepare, immedialtely, all necessary files for the accreditation starting with a training updates to concerned staff.

Within the framework of the regional project of cooperation entitled: " strengthening of the infrastructure quality of solar energy in the Maghreb " and according to the action plan adopted during the third meeting of the Steering committee of the project which is kept in Nouakchott (Mauritania) in October, 2014, a training on the calculation of uncertainties (one of the technical requirements and quality management of the ISO / CIS 17025 standard ( 2005 )) took place in the CDER from May 31st till June 04th, 2015. This training concerned fourteen ( 14 ) technicians of the countries of the Maghreb (Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco and Mauritania) among which four elements of the staffs of test and metrology laboratories of the CDER. The training was conducted by Professor Mladen Borsic (Croatia) expert, consultat with PTB in metrology thanks to the support of the CDER and PTB (Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt Germany).

This training is a logical continuation of a previous training on the ISO 17025 standard that regulates the accrediation of test and calibration laboratories where it is stated that incertainity calculation is required hence the need to training updates of the staff in charge of tests and calibration in the eprspective of the application of 17025 standard in laboratories of tests of sensors and solar water-heaters and calibration. The ISO 17025 standard requires a first methodological step then a second more practical to estimate incertainity, such as the method GUM (ISO/IEC Guide 98-3 : Guide for the expression of measurment incertainity). This last one was at the center of the schedule of the training completed with practical case studies during the five days training.

The training target staff saw the volume of work and complexity of work necessary to make the engaged process real in a way for accreditate laboratories. Remember that ISO/CEI 17025 standard is a reference used in accreditation audits for laboratories.

The training, highly appreciated, has been concluded with a nice ceremony of Participation Certificates award.
