National program for renerwable energies research

In order to understand the dimension of renewable energies in Algeria, it is better to talk first of all about the important and endless existing resources not yet exploited namely the exceptional solar field of 2.381.745 Km2, 3000 hours of sunshine /year and the wind and geothermal energy potential easily workable. Moreover, these energies are clean, renewable and can be used where it exists, their decentralized nature suited to the state scattered areas of low population density. Consequently, they can contribute to the protection of the environment and be considered as a promising alternative to conventional energy. These energies are the solution for remote areas for their health and water connection, deforestation and telecommunications. Which induces the stabilization of populations to their places of origin with promise for their lives perspectives. Ratification of the Kyoto Protocol and the Act on the promotion of renewable energies in the context of sustainable development have confirmed the Algerian political will and commitment of our country to exploit these renewable and non-polluting natural resources through increased mobilization efforts of research / development for the control technology used in installations of renewable energy conversion power.

Scientific research and technological development in the field of renewable energies will be around specific programs have a direct impact on the socio-economic reality of the country. The main scientific objectives of each program are to assess renewable energy fields, control and optimize the process of conversion, processing and storage of these energies and develop know-how, ranging from the study until to the realization of on-site facilities.

The future seems profitable for renewable energies. The climate change fight, the development of decentralized or centralized electrical production and then technical progress should push these channels. The program set these last years around renewable energies and sustainable development is a strong signal to national and international researchers to assert the integration of our country into renewable resources developments and their application. Further more, to consolidate the achievements of the previous national research program in the field of renewable energies, the actions to be taken are aimed at evaluating the energy deposit therein, to develop techniques, processes, materials and mastering systems. These actions must be implemented on the ground with a visible socio-economic impact on the basis of relevant studies. So that these actions meet the desired may lead to recovery of the results expected, it is suggested:

encourage federating projects;

work team and on network to benefit of multidisciplinary foster cooperation of foreign partners in particular of Algerian origin.
