Director’s biography, Professor Noureddine Yassaa

Prof. Yassaa Noureddine is the Director of the Renewable Energy Development Center. He is also Professor at the University of Science and Technology Houari Boumediene (USTHB) – Algiers. Prof. Yassaa is Vice Chair of Working Group I of the Bureau of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the Designated National Entity of the Climate Technology Center and Network "CTCN "under the aegis of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and member of several panels of international experts. He is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Agency for the Valorization of Results of Research and Technological Development (ANVREDET) and a member of several sectoral and intersectoral commissions. Author and co-author of more than 60 international scientific publications, Prof. Yassaa is a member of the editorial board of several scientific journals. He coordinates national and international projects. His research results have been crowned with several awards, including the CHEMRAWN VII first prize, Chemical Research Applied for World Needs, awarded by the International Union for Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) in 2010. The research work of Prof. Yassaa currently focuses on renewable energy, energy efficiency, atmospheric science, climate change and sustainable development.
