Summer solstice 2014: Industrial and scientific production in the spotlight.
In presence of the study director at the headquater of the Scientific Research and Technological Development, Mr.Touzi and the director of the EPST CDER Noureddine Yassaa, reserachers and support staff to scientific research of the Center for Renewable Energies Development celebrated, as each year, the summer solstice day, the longest day in the year.
During his opening word, the study director Mr. Touzi underlined the emblematic importance of summer solstice for renewable energies, to push researchers to team work to get good results and develop renewable energies.
In his side, the director of the EPST CDER Noureddine Yassaa, pleaded for the strengthening of the multisectoral collaboration for the promotion and the development of renewable energies in Algeria. This collaboration shaped with the signature of conventions with especially the energy Department, SKTM of Sonelgaz Group, treating on the installation of PV plants, equipment upkeeping, monitoring and training. Mr.Noureddine Yassaa called, by the same way, for the implication of economic actors for the production and the setting on market of electricty from photovoltaic and wind energy.
Furthermore, the director of the EPST CDER mentioned the existence of several cooperation projects with foreighn countries, especially the European Union on training, mobility, technology transfer and prototypes development.
In another context, Pr. Noureddine Yassaa gave an overview of the progress report of CDER in strengthening human resource, scientific output in terms of number of publications, communications, invention patents filed and of prototypes. In addition, the director of CDER also spoke in his assessment about the visibility of the center and the launch of the English version of the portal of Renewable Energy which will become trilingual .
As usual, the momentum of the ceremony of the summer solstice was the attribution of the price of the best scientific production in the Renewable Energies Revue, which was given this year to Dr.Abdelhamid kaabache, researcher at the CDER for his qualitative contributions in the revue and the number of his articles mentions.
The second price of scientific production quality was attributed to DR. Adel Mellit from Jijel University, for the several mentions of his articles in the data base of Web of Science and for his numerous publications in 2013.
the price of the national industrial contibution of this year, was attributed to CONDOR Electronics for the launching of its first production unit of photovoltaic pannels in January, 2013. To encourage research teams and their practical applications in research projects, the CDER attributed two encouragement prices for the team energy economy and control from the solar photovoltaic division on the realization of a bench test of photovoltaic modules charaterization, which uses different technologies on different angles. The second encouragement price was given to the atmospheric pollution team from the bio-energy and environment division for their air quality measurement and the study of the impact of pollution on the photovoltaic moduls outputs station.
The summer solstice day was the opportunity to honor the CDER retireds. The summer solstice day of 2014 was also celebrated at the UDES – Bou ismail, URAER – Ghardaïa and finally at the URER-MS – Adrar.
