Balance sheet of scientific research, technological development and innovation of EPST CDER 2016
Benefiting from the dynamics of the renewable energy sector in Algeria, the record of scientific research, technological development and innovation for the year 2016 of the Renewable Energy Development Center (CDER) shows strong growth in performance Both in terms of technical support in the implementation of the national program for the development of renewable energies and in the realization of pilot projects and prototypes.
This balance sheet is also marked by the signing of several conventions for national and international scientific and technical cooperation, awareness raising and promotion of renewable energies and energy efficiency, and the organization of several events, including open houses on Renewable energies where several products of research, technological development and innovation have been exposed.

The flagship pilot projects carried out by the CDER and its three Research Units include a solar-powered bioclimatic construction, a solar-powered intelligent house, a solar mini-power plant, the first in Africa, with the technology Photovoltaic (CPV) in collaboration with SKTM and a solar photovoltaic mini-power plant in collaboration with the South Korea International Cooperation Agency "KOICA". In addition to pilot and demonstration projects, CDER, through its commercial subsidiary ER2 (Studies and Achievements in Renewable Energies), has carried out solar electrification projects in the regions of Bouira, Khenchela, Béchar, Adrar and Illizi.
In terms of technical support and expertise, the CDER has established performance studies of a 1.1 MW multi-technology photovoltaic pilot plant in Ghardaïa and another 10 MW wind power pilot plant in the Wilaya of Adrar.
In addition, the CDER has set up a Quality Management System in accordance with the International Standard ISO / IEC 17025, bringing together all the policies, procedures and instructions necessary to guarantee the aptitude of the staff and to ensure the sustainability and Quality of services and better meet customer requirements. Two test laboratories for thermal solar collectors and calibration of pyranometers have been set up at the CDER and are in the process of being accredited to ISO 17025 standard.
The very rich balance sheet for 2016 results in the following key figures; 23 partnership agreements with the socio-economic sector, 166 publications indexed to the Scopus database, 4 patents, 18 PhDs, 07 academic authorizations, 04 promotions to the rank of Research Director, and many others.
Thanks to its scientific and technical achievements and its achievements in the field, the CDER is resolutely committed to excellence at both the national and regional level, while at the same time establishing itself as a key player in the field of implementation of renewable energy development and energy efficiency programs.
