Report on the first international conference on clean cooling technologies in the MENA region
The Solar Equipment Development Unit, UDES affiliated to the Renewable Energy Development Center CDER, organized the first international conference on clean cooling technologies in the MENA region, Tuesday, the 6th October 2015.
The principal goal of this meeting is to bring information for researchers, investors, consultants, industries and students from different faculties, on the latest advances in cooling technologies (refrigeration, air conditionning and ventillation).
This first meeting was very well attended by experts, professors, researchers, academics, as well as active actors in that field.
The official opening word was made by Mr. Diaf Said, CDER’s Deputy Director, in presence of Mr. Bouzidi Belkacem, Director of the Solar Equipment Devellopment Unit, Mr. Coulomb Director of the International Institute of Cooling, of Ms.. Kasbadji Nachida Merzouk, UDES Research Director and President of the scientific committee of the conference and Mr. Abbas Mohamed, Chairman of the Organizational Committee.
In his speech, the Director of the Solar Equipment Development Unit, Mr. Bouzidi Belkacem has reported the danger that represent the currently used refrigerants for environment. Hence the importance of this scientific meeting which provides exchanging and sharing information and discovering the latest technological advances acheived within this domaine.
Moreover, Ms. Kasbadji Nachida Merzouk, President of the scientific council of the conference highlighted the importance of this meeting in the field of cooling, and that through this event we may attract the interest of different actors acting in this field in order to promote processes and systems of cooling industrially used. Ms. Merzouk proposed the implementation of a cooperation hub between research and industry.
The conference occured in two sessions. Many presentations, communications and posters were presented by experts, researchers such as Dr. Coulomb, Director of the International Institute of Cooling, A. Kacimi, Director of Cooling Chain Expertise, SOFFRIGAM, O. Sari, Thermal Engineering Institute of the University of Applied Science western switezerland, and Mr. Bourouis, Professor at the University Roviva Virgili, Spain.
Besides this event, the Director of UDES awarded a recognition certificate to the cooling and water treatment by FTEER energy Team, and by the same occasion he honored the memory of Mr. Abad brahim, Researcher in the team.
At the end of this meeting, recommendations were produced.
