2015 Summer Soltice : Promoting scientific and industrial production in the spotlight
On the occasion of the 2015 Summer Soltice, that came just with the International Year of Light, the Renewable Energy Development Center, CDER organized a ceremony, Sunday, June 21st, 2015, to celebrate the longgest day of the year.
The celebration was opened by the General Director of Scientific Research and Technological Development, Pr. Hafid Aourag, in presence of the CDER’s Director, Pr. Noureddine Yassaa, the SKTM’s CEO, Mr. Chahar Boulakhras, the Vice Director, Mr. Said Diaf, the Secretary-General of the center, Mr. Aissa Moumen, in addition of researchers and research support staff.
As traditionally made, the ceremony was the occasion for promoting scientific and industrial production, and to encourage the best acheivements reached in the CDER and all its units.
During this day, the Director of EPST CDER Noureddine Yassaa gave an overview of the scientific production balance in terms national and international scientific publications and communications, citations, scientific events, international visibility, as well as national patents.
Besides, the Director presented many innovating projects which are realized or being to be realized within CDER and its units.
And as every year, the high time of the ceremony of the Summer Soltice was when distributing awards. The prize of the best publication in the Renewable Energy Journal, released by the center, was given to Nasereddine Belhaouas, researcher in the Solar Photovoltaic Division.
The Second prize on the quality of the scientific production was awarded to professor Mohamed Trari, from the laboratory of Renewable Energy Storage and Valorization of the University of Science and Technology Houari Boumediene USTHB, for his numerous production during these last five years, especially the various quotations of his articles in scientific databases.
The prize of the national industrial production of this year, was attributed to Sharikat Kahraba Wa Takat Moutadjadida SKTM, brand of Sonelgaz in charge of the production of electricity as well as the realization of many photovoltaic and wind plants.
AS the CDER has the will to encourage realizations and practical applications in innovative research projects, three encouragement prizes have been attributed to research teams from the center and its units. For this year, honored teams are :
The Thermodynamic Mini Plant team From The unit of Ghardaia URAER/ CDER for their realization of a Concentrating System applied on the Algerian South.
Solar Thermal Equipment and Applications team at the unit of Bousmail, UDES/CDER for their realization of a PVT sensor with forced air convection which can be integrated in building.
Bioclimatic team of the CDER for their realization of a software of Thermal Algerian Regulation RTA.
The 2015 Summer Soltice, was also an occasion to inaugurate a solar water-heater certification facility which will provide for the center checking the compliance of the equipments with national and international standards.
